Forum for discussion of Israel and Palestine

November 6th, 2023

We have all been shocked and saddened by the violence and tragic events that have unfolded in Southern Israel and Gaza, and the war that is resulting.

Tensions are spreading further as a consequence. As part of Interfaith Week, we will be offering staff the opportunity to take part in a training session delivered by the Forum for Discussion of Israel and
Palestine (FODIP).

This is about allowing staff to come together and talk about the impact of the current situation in Israel and Palestine, through a forum which promotes understanding, empathy and respect between individuals and communities, and values our common humanity.

  • Have you been left with difficult emotions and feelings?
  • Are you unsure how to support students impacted by the conflict?
  • Do you feel confused by what is happening?
  • Are you worried about saying the wrong thing?
  • Are you feeling unsure as to how to navigate this as a member of the university
community and wider communities here in the UK?
  • Would you like a safe space to talk about how this is impacting you, other individuals
    and communities?

Date

Monday 13 November 2023
Time: 10am – 12:30pm
Location: University Park Campus

Places are limited and we invite staff to complete a short application form to express their interest in taking part.

Our thoughts and prayers are extended to all the victims, their families and friends and those
affected.
