The University of Nottingham is proud to be the only university to have two of its research community represented on a prestigious UKRI Research England Panel.

In recent weeks, Rachel Van Krimpen, BBSRC Doctoral Training Programme Manager for Research and Innovation and Stacey Johnson, Associate Professor from the Faculty of Health Sciences, have been formally invited to join the Research England (RE) Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) Expert Advisory Group.

The purpose of the group will be to provide expert external advice and guidance to Research England on its approach to supporting and improving EDI in the Higher Education sector in England.

In the formal letter of invitation, Director of Research at Research England Dr Steven Hill wrote: “We received a significant number of applications to join the group, which were assessed by an internal selection panel, of which I was chair.

“The panel also comprised of RE council members Professor Anne-Marie Imafidon and Professor Graeme Reid.

“There was an incredibly strong and committed pool of applications received from a diverse range of individuals with a broad range of expertise.”
