Volunteer Awards 2021 nominations now open

March 30th, 2021

The university’s annual Volunteer Awards celebrate the incredible contributions that our alumni, staff and community volunteers make to the University and the wider world. We’re highlighting the inspiring individuals who contribute their valuable time to a wide variety of projects at the University and want your nominations for volunteers who make the extraordinary possible for students and researchers alike.

This year you can nominate volunteers in one of the five categories below. Please fill in the nomination form here to nominate someone special and recognise their outstanding work!

  • Volunteer of the Year – To recognise a volunteer who has gone above and beyond the expected role of a volunteer.
  • Community Volunteer of the Year (individual or group) – To recognise the sustained commitment and outstanding enthusiasm of a volunteer who is not a student, staff or alumnus.
  • Exceptional Contribution – To recognise a volunteer who has gone above and beyond during the Covid-19 pandemic to help the university community
  • Volunteer Co-ordinator of the Year – 1 per faculty and 1 for Professional Services - To recognise members of staff or student who manage volunteering activities for their school, department or faculty and are supported by the central Volunteering and Advocacy Team.
  • Longstanding Volunteer Award – This award will recognise individuals who have shown sustained and substantial commitment to the university for a period of at least four years.
