The Parliamentary Office for Science and Technology (POST) is offering academic fellowships for researchers interested in the way research evidence can be used in policymaking.

Fellowships are open to all UK-based researchers who have a PHD, or university staff who work in impact or knowledge exchange and who are eligible for a parliamentary pass.

Undertaking a parliamentary fellowship has a number of benefits, including:

• Opportunities to gain first-hand experience in the world of policy and deepening your knowledge of parliament
• Delivering real impact for your research by directly contributing to policy maker’s knowledge in your area of expertise
• Improving networks on which to base further policy impact work and raising your personal profile
• Gaining insights and inspiration to support your future research agenda and career
• Learning new skills and knowledge that can inform your teaching

The deadline for applications is 11:59pm on Sunday 19 January 2020.

The Institute for Policy and Engagement is holding a drop-in style workshop to help anyone thinking of applying to the fellowship scheme.

The workshop will take place in Room A01, Highfield House, University Park on Tuesday 17 December from 11am to 1pm.

It’s a chance to learn more about the fellowships and about POST but also an opportunity for researchers and university staff to begin developing and strengthening applications in a supportive environment.
