University launches new Strategic Improvement Plan for Health and Safety

November 22nd, 2019

As a University community it’s vital that our campuses and workspaces are safe, healthy and happy places to be for staff, students and visitors.

Health and safety should be embedded in everything we do and has a large part to play in everyday University life.

As part of this, the University is launching a brand new vision and strategic improvement plan for health and safety.

The new plan creates a robust framework to support the delivery of health and safety excellence across the university.

There are six key themes to the new improvement plan:

  • Systems
  • Specialisms
  • Community
  • Communication
  • Knowledge
  • Assurance

Each theme is supported by its own vision and set of guiding principles. Over the coming years, the Health and Safety Department and others will use the new strategic plan to shape health and safety practices across the University.

Everyone at the University has a responsibility for their personal health and safety and the health and safety of those around them.
