International Open Access Week

International Open Access Week is an annual, global event to celebrate the benefits of making access to knowledge freely available for everyone around the world.

From Monday 21 – Friday 25 October, the University of Nottingham Libraries’ Research Support Team will be marking the event with a host of sessions to help researchers make the most of publishing open access.

The following sessions will be offered:

  • How will Plan S affect my research?
    Tuesday 22 October, 12-12.45pm in B2, Hemsley Building, University Park
    This flagship session looks at the open access publishing initiative Plan S which is set to influence key UK funders when it arrives in 2021. This session will give an overview of the potential implications for researchers as well as a chance for you to ask questions.
  • Open access drop-ins
    Monday 21 and Thursday 24 October, 1-2pm in George Green Library Cafe, University Park
    Drop in for a chat about all things open access including REF, funder requirements and depositing in RIS.
  • Open access for your research
    Wednesday 23 October, 1-3pm, C09 Engineering and Science Learning Centre, University Park
    Find out how to make your publications openly available with this special open access training session.
  • Sharing data workshop
    Friday 25 October, 1-3pm in LG101, Hallward Library, University Park
    A practical workshop taking attendees through the basics of sharing their research data in a data repository.
