Register to vote in the European Parliament elections by Tuesday 7 May

European Parliament elections are scheduled to take place in the UK on Thursday 23 May.

Register to vote on the GOV.UK website (you will need your National Insurance Number or some other ID).

The deadline for registering to vote in these elections is Tuesday 7 May.

EU nationals have the right to vote in these elections, provided you don’t also cast your vote in your home country.

There is two-step registration process for EU nationals to register to vote in this election, both of which need to be completed by Tuesday 7 May.

  1. Register to vote on the GOV.UK website (you will need your National Insurance Number or to send some other form of ID to your local council)
  2. Fill in this form to confirm you won’t vote in your home country and return the form to your local council (find their email address here)

Irish, Maltese and Cypriot nationals only need to complete step one above.
