Nominations are now being accepted for the Lord Dearing Awards 2018. These awards provide an important way to help us recognise staff members’ outstanding contributions to enhancing the student learning environment.

If you’ve been inspired or challenged by a member of staff at the University of Nottingham, we’d like to hear about it! Both staff and students can nominate someone for an award; details on how to do this are available now on the Lord Dearing Awards webpage.

Each year 20 awards are given to teaching staff and 10 are given to staff from other areas such as technical or support staff.

In addition to the individual awards, the Lord Dearing Award for Excellence in the Learning Environment will be given to one School or Department where efforts to achieve excellence in teaching and in the student experience have been embedded across all programme teams and staff groups. Heads of School or Departments are invited to self-nominate their unit with the submission of a short statement (maximum 500 words).

The deadline for this year’s nominations is Friday 10 November.
