Want to lie in bed for research?

October 9th, 2017

Healthy volunteers are required as “Pillownauts” (Astronauts in Bed) — helping a manned mission to Mars!

The volunteers will be involved in a study investigating insulin resistance during bed rest (as part of a larger study with the European Space Agency (ESA).)

Volunteers will be required to undergo a medical screening visit, three days of bed rest with three experimental sessions and three days of rehabilitation, at the University of Nottingham. The volunteers must be healthy, male and aged 20-45 years.

This study is taking place now and will end December 2018. To get involved, please email Dr Natalie Shur, Clinical Research Fellow at the University of Nottingham (natalie.shur@nottingham.ac.uk or mbznfs@nottingham.ac.uk).

You can also find more details about this volunteering position here.

An inconvenience allowance will be provided.
