August 31st, 2010
Friday 10 September to Sunday 19 December, Weston Gallery, Lakeside Arts Centre, admission free.
Examining the teaching of basic education over the centuries, this exhibition looks at ways in which children were helped along the path to literacy. From arithmetic exercise books to examples of penmanship, the exhibition draws heavily from the Briggs Collection of Educational Literature. A series of lunchtime talks expands on the materials — visit www.lakesidearts.org.uk or call the box office on 0115 846 7777 for more info.
