Maternity/adoption/shared parental leave: focus groups announced

July 21st, 2017

Focus groups are being held to explore experiences of maternity, adoption, and shared parental leave at the University of Nottingham.

The focus groups follow on from the Athena SWAN survey conducted earlier this year, which aimed to understand some of the equality and diversity issues across the University. Picking up on a key area in that survey, we’d like to explore your experience of taking maternity/adoption/shared parental leave, and returning to work following that leave, in more detail.

Focus groups are being held for staff who have experiences we can draw on, both positive and negative. Separate focus groups will also take place for line managers who have supported, or are supporting, people going on leave or returning from leave.

We’d like to gain perspectives in the round to understand the issues for staff and line managers, and the barriers and opportunities for the institution to make improvements. The information gained will be held confidentially and used to help us develop action plans for future equality, diversity and inclusion (EDI) initiatives.

Focus Groups will be run between August and November. If you would like to take part, please click on the appropriate link below:
