UoN alumni honoured in the Alumni Awards 2017

March 2nd, 2017

The Alumni Awards 2017 are celebrated in 14 different countries around the world and recognise the outstanding achievements of the UK’s international alumni. Two of this year’s winners – Samuel Chan from Hong Kong and Justice Kwasi Anokye Gyimah from Ghana – are members of our alumni community.

Samuel Chan graduated from The University of Nottingham in 2010 with an undergraduate degree in economics. The British Council Hong Kong awarded him the Entrepreneurial Award for his company Britannia StudyLink. Britannia StudyLink promotes UK independent school education as well as UK education in general. Samuel is a leading educationist, columnist and consultant in the field of Hong Kong’s overseas education. He credits his success in business to the experience he obtained while studying in the UK.

Justice Kwasi Anokye Gyimah was awarded the Professional Achievement Award at the British Council Ghana’s Alumni Awards Gala last week. Justice Gyimah graduated from The University of Nottingham in 2005 with an LLM in International Criminal Justice and Armed Conflict. He is now a judge of the High Court of Ghana.

The Alumni Awards serve to highlight the vibrant community of international students and alumni we have at The University of Nottingham. The University extends its congratulations to all winners of the Alumni Awards 2017.
