UNICAS Sandpit – Sustainable Societies

The University of Nottingham Interdisciplinary Centre for Analytical Science (UNICAS) aims to facilitate interdisciplinary research and enhance research capacity in cutting edge analytical science.

The UNICAS Sandpit events have been arranged for the next academic year. They aim to enable researchers to network, showcase their research expertise, discuss research challenges and find solutions to those challenges. All delegates will be required to present a 1-slide-in-1-minute.

The themes and dates for the Sandpit events are:

  • Transformative Technologies, 19th October 2016, University Park
  • Health & Wellbeing, 7th December 2016, Medical School
  • Sustainable Societies, 25th January 2017, Sutton Bonington (please note, this event will no longer take place on 18th January as originally advertised).

Following these events, delegates will be able to apply for funding for an interdisciplinary research project resulting from the sandpit.

There are two funding schemes with separate sandpits, please see below to register your free place:

Research Staff/Academic and Technical Staff (up to £15,000).

2nd Year PhD Students and Research Staff (up to £5,000).
