Trump: the first 100 days

Please join the Department of American and Canadian Studies’ panel of experts on May 8, at the end of Trump’s first 100 days as President.

Prior to entering the White House, Donald Trump pledged a “100-day action plan to Make America Great Again.” He called it a “100-day plan to restore prosperity to our economy, security to our communities and honesty to our government.” How much did he accomplish? How did his actions compare to his promises? Has he broken or upheld what he referred to as a “Contract With The American Voter”? What has his inaugural vision of “America First” looked like in reality? What will be the legacies and costs of those first 100 days – for America and for the world?

We will offer initial responses, debate key moments and policies of the first 100 days, and take audience questions.

Our panelists are:

  • Anthony Hutchison, Lecturer in American Intellectual and Cultural History
  • Todd Landman, Professor of Political Science and Pro-Vice-Chancellor for the Faculty of Social Sciences
  • Paul McGarr, Assistant Professor in American and Canadian Studies
  • Maria Ryan, Assistant Professor in American History

Free and open to all, but please register online.
