University Challenge sees teams of students from across the country facing academic quiz questions on the buzzer. Broadcast on BBC2, it offers a shot at eternal quiz glory and a chance to meet the legend himself, Jeremy Paxman.

The University of Nottingham is looking for its 2017 team. The tryouts are open to every current student meeting the following criteria:

Students who have not appeared on the televised version of University Challenge

Students who are enrolled at The University of Nottingham and their final award in respect of their course will not be communicated before May 2017.

Round one of tryouts will close at midnight on Thursday 27 October. Apply online here.
