Black Lives Matter: the past, present and future of an international movement for rights and justice

At the 50th anniversaries of the UK Race Relations Act and the US Civil Rights Movement, join the Centre for Research in Race and Rights (C3R) and its partners for a day of panel debates. Plus hip hop performance and dialogues featuring Akala and activist-scholars Dr Monica Miller and Dr James Peterson from 6.30pm to 9pm. Part of Black History Month 2015.

Slave Trade Legacies – evening of film and discussion

Slave Trade Legacies, Bright Ideas and AHRC Global Cotton Connections present an evening of film and discussion. Two films while be screened – The Colour of Money (a Heritage Lottery Funded project held by Bright Ideas) and Global Cotton Connections: Unravelling the Threads of Slavery (funded by the AHRC Global Cotton Connections project).
