If you want to develop yourself as a leader, four of the programmes offered by the Leadership and Management Academy are currently taking applications — but you need to be quick, three are only open until Monday 30 October.

The Leadership and Management Academy offers development programmes for leaders at all levels and stages of their careers, and four of our programmes are currently open for applications. So, whether you’re just starting out, or you’re a senior leader at the University, if you’re looking to develop your leadership skills we’ve got something to suit you.

The following programmes are currently taking applications:

• Aspiring Leaders: This programme is for any member of staff who’s thinking about taking on their first leadership role. If you’re looking for that first role as a leader, or if you’ve been identified as potential leadership talent, this programme will give you the opportunity to develop your leadership skills and deepen your understanding of what leadership means for the University. Staff from all job families are invited to apply. • Stepping into Leadership: If you’re in your first leadership role, this programme is for you. Whether you’re leading a team, a project or a piece of work, we’ll help you develop your foundational leadership skills and improve the way you lead. Equally, if you’ve been a leader for a while, but haven’t had an opportunity for formal leadership development, this is a great place to start. Staff from all job families are invited to apply. The deadline for applications is Monday 30 October. Find out more/apply.
• Strategic Leaders: This programme is all about broadening your horizons as a strategic leader. As well as considering the challenges and issues that our University is facing, you’ll get the opportunity to consider the wider sector, policy and global challenges that are shaping our present and future environment. Your role is likely to be at L6 or L7, and staff from all job families at these levels are invited to apply. • Future Leaders: If you’re looking to take that step from leading teams to leading in a more strategic, cross functional way this programme can help you start. Leadership requirements are changing and the demands of leadership require a broader range of skills than has been needed previously, both for the success of our teams and the University as a whole. This programme develops the skills leaders need to build our future success. Your role is likely to be at L5 or L6, and staff from all job families at these levels are invited to apply.
