Call for volunteers to help at Graduation 2017

May 31st, 2017

The University of Nottingham is looking for volunteers to join this year’s graduation ceremonies as stewards, responsible for welcoming and helping attendees.

Stewarding represents an opportunity for staff and peers to see students celebrate the culmination of their studies. The type of activity volunteers may be asked to help with includes:

  • welcoming guests and students;
  • guiding guests and students to their seats;
  • making arrangements for guests with individual requirements; and
  • answering queries and helping with problems on the day.

Around 30 stewards are needed for each of the 22 ceremonies taking place from Wednesday 12 July – Friday 21 July 2017. Volunteers can take part in one or multiple ceremonies, scheduled at different times.

Tea and coffee will be available throughout the day and lunch will be provided for volunteers who support graduation for a full day.

If you wish to help out at any of the events, please complete this online form (you will need to seek approval from your line manager first).

After you complete the form, the next step will be to attend a briefing session at 2pm Tuesday 11 July, at the David Ross Sports Village. If you’re unable to attend this briefing or for any other information, please contact br-gradstewards@nottingham.ac.uk.
