Call for staff proposals: Social science studentships launched by Midlands Graduate School

October 26th, 2016

The University of Nottingham has joined forces with five other universities across the Midlands to form the Midlands Graduate School ESRC Doctoral Training Partnership. It will welcome its first cohort of postgraduate students in October 2017.

A formal call for proposals for collaborative studentships funded under the new partnership has recently been announced. This will enable staff to bid for funds to recruit a full-funded postgraduate student to a proposed project.

There are two types of studentship available under this scheme:

  • Joint studentships which will feature co-supervision from a colleague at one of the other Midlands Graduate School institutions
  • Collaborative studentships (formerly CASE) which will feature collaboration and co-supervision with an external non-HEI organisation

Further details along with application forms and instructions can be found on Workspace.

The deadline for staff proposal submissions is Monday 5 December 2016.

Please note: these studentships are available in addition to the main competition for student-led awards, which has not yet been released. Further information about the main competition is expected shortly. If you would like to find out more, you can join our mailing list to be alerted as soon as there are any updates.
